Responding to numerous customer requests, GRAPHILO system planner refills are now available in a limited, direct-sales exclusive release.
Kobeha Keikaku's original paper, GRAPHILO, is named after the Greek words "graph" (to write) and "philo" (to love). It was created from the desire to produce paper products that emphasize the smooth writing experience of a fountain pen.
Development proceeded with the cooperation of papermakers and fountain pen enthusiasts, all seeking the ideal paper.
Starting with a few dozen types, the composition and manufacturing methods were subtly altered while maintaining similar characteristics. The resulting few dozen papers then underwent repeated writing tests, with fine adjustments continuing until the day of papermaking.
Paper can be broadly categorized into "uncoated paper," which has no surface treatment, and "coated paper," which has pigments called fillers applied to it. Many of GRAPHILO's characteristic writing qualities come from the ingenuity in the type, quantity, and blending method of these fillers.
Rich, Wet Ink Flow |
It offers a smooth writing experience without skipping or catching, while still retaining the texture of the paper.
This sensation is described as "wet."
Sharp Line Edges |
By using fillers that can thoroughly cover the surface even when applied thinly, we successfully minimized feathering and line thickening.
Excellent Ink Color Development |
A uniform coating layer allows ink to develop beautifully, with rich expression of shades and tones.
Reduced Bleed-through |
By adjusting the filler blend, ink is less likely to bleed through, even when using broad nibs or writing over previous lines.
Reduced Front-to-Back Difference |
Paper always has a difference between its front and back sides.
While some papers show significant variations in writing feel depending on this difference, GRAPHILO has been carefully designed to minimize this front-to-back variation.
※ GRAPHILO has a slightly slower ink absorption rate due to its wet writing characteristics.
Additionally, the characteristics described above may be less noticeable depending on the pen and ink combination you use.
Please experiment with your writing instruments to find the best compatibility.
