Part 4: Playing with Paper and Appreciating Paper
The first step in kicking off 2024!
Interesting Printing Shubi-sha will be holding a festival called "Kamimode" at the Horikawa Shinbunka Building, where people can play with, celebrate, and play with paper!
The main event will be a "paper and printing flea market workshop" by artists, designers, photographers, painters, craft artists, etc., and we also offer delicious food, drinks, and coffee.
This year too, the event will be packed with luxurious shops that will keep you in the New Year's mood for three days.
The theme of the event is "Paper Pilgrimage."
This sounds like auspicious news, but where exactly is the god of paper?
Printed materials are all around us as a matter of course. Each one of them actually has a story. Someone draws, writes, and creates by hand the image that someone imagined. Someone prints it with paper and ink. The many people and thoughts involved in one printing. The thoughts that have been nurtured through this relay are given form on paper. We believe that this is the kind of expression we can provide.
If there is a god of paper, he may live in each and every one of these small printed pieces. When we visit paper, we give thanks to the god and cheer him on! Let's have fun together.
