The cover is from Kamisaka Yukiyoshi's Dyeing Diagrams: Kairo, which was published about 120 years ago as a reference book for craftsmen who drew kimono patterns. Two of these designs were selected, new woodblocks were made, the color scheme was made pop, and each book was hand-bound in a detchoso style (a binding method in which a sheet of paper is folded in half and glue is applied to the spine before being folded). It is made in a sticky leaf style so it opens flat and is easy to write in. Also, since there is no specific binding required for left or right, you can use it with or without binding, depending on your preference. The main text is made of Echizen Fools Washi Fukunokokosen. This pen was developed by Kakubun in Fukui Prefecture over a period of eight years, with the utmost pursuit of a comfortable writing experience. The thickness of the paper was adjusted specifically for this product and it was made in Echizen. Not only is it comfortable to write with, but it also feels great to the touch.
