This product was developed based on the traditional craft "Aohana paper" from Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture. "Aohana paper" is made by soaking Japanese paper in the color of the "Aohana", the flower of Kusatsu City. The traditional method of making it involves applying the juice of the Aohana to the Japanese paper and drying it in the sun, a process that is repeated many times, and is made carefully by hand. It has been used since ancient times as a preliminary design for Yuzen dyeing and tie-dyeing, and in the Edo period it was used as blue paint for ukiyo-e painting.
In order to expand sales beyond its traditional uses, we have developed it into writing ink using a unique manufacturing technique by NPO Seika Seisai, which differs from the traditional manufacturing method. We also offer a set product that can be used with a glass pen and a small plate. Please enjoy the vivid blue color unique to natural Aobana.
How to use:
Cut out one piece along the outline of the die cut, place the paper ink on a small plate, and add an appropriate amount of water (about 0.5 to 1 ml) to dissolve the ink. You can adjust the darkness of the ink by changing the amount of water you add.
